Working together since 1973 - we greatly appreciate Maerz's reliability and solution-orientation.

You have chosen to work with Maerz Ofenbau. Why Maerz?

Calcinor built its first Maerz kiln in the early 70s. We now have 17 Maerz PFR kilns, which shows a long relationship with the company. We have experience with other kiln types (mostly inherited from companies that Calcinor has acquired), but the Maerz PFR kiln is without doubt our preferred option when it comes to lime kilns.

In your project, a new Maerz PFR C-series lime kiln was built next to the existing Maerz PFR lime kiln. What was the reason for choosing this kiln series instead of the previous generation?

We have regular meetings with Maerz. During one of these meetings we were introduced to the C-series kiln and the improvements over previous generations were obvious. When the time came to start the project, it was an easy decision.

What benefits/advantages do you derive from Maerz’ products and services?

We benefit from Maerz's high quality engineering, reliable products and services, and effective communication throughout the project. Maerz is committed to continuous improvement and finding solutions for its customers, which adds significant value to its offering.

To what extent were your expectations met or – better yet – exceeded?

The new kiln, with many modifications from its predecessors, had no problems during installation and commissioning. It has been running smoothly since it was fired up.

There are always fears and doubts when choosing new technology, but in this case everything has worked perfectly, with excellent product quality, energy consumption and reliability. Expectations have definitely been met.

The thorough engineering work carried out by Maerz is highly commendable.

How do you perceive Maerz in terms of sustainability and innovation?

Lime is a small industry compared to other industrial minerals. I think it is great to have an engineering company in our industry that is as focused on driving innovation as Maerz. We are grateful to have them as a partner.

The Maerz EcoKiln® reflects their commitment to sustainability. It will be interesting to see where this journey takes us, but I am confident that Maerz will provide us with the necessary tools to meet the challenges.

Looking back, what do you remember most about working with Maerz?

What we appreciate about working with Maerz is their ability to help find solutions to problems, to proactively suggest helpful ideas, and to be a reliable partner who gives you the confidence to start new projects knowing that their product will work. The positive and constructive relationship with Maerz staff has also left a lasting impression.
