Jinzhou Tiansheng Heavy Industry, based in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province in China, recently ordered 6 Maerz PFR kilns, each with a capacity of 800 tons per day, for Mundra Petrochem’s new carbide plant. Mundra Petrochem is part of the Adani Group, a diversified company in the fields of transport logistics, energy supply and other major industries based in Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat in India.
With its capacity of almost 5,000 tons of quicklime per day, the new plant will be the largest lime plant ever built on a greenfield site, surpassing even the recently completed plants in China. Maerz is supplying engineering and material & equipment for 6 R5S carbide-gas-fired kilns, each with a production capacity of 800 tons per day. The carbide gas is a by-product of PVC production - this makes the kilns extremely cost-effective to operate and the carbide gas is put to good use.
We have been in direct contact with Adani since February 2022, and Jinzhou Tiansheng Heavy Industry has been involved since July this year. Our extensive experience in the design of lime kilns with carbide gas, and our many years of experience in the design and construction of large lime shaft kilns with a compact layout were ultimately the decisive criteria for awarding the contract to Maerz. The customer was thus able to place its trust in a reliable partner and optimise its investment costs.
We are pleased to be part of this project and to be pushing new boundaries. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us info@maerz.com.
