With a total capacity of 4000 t/d of quicklime, the new lime plant in Laoting for Tangshan Gangyuan is the largest plant ever built on a greenfield site - not only in China but in the whole world. Maerz supplied engineering and material & equipment for 5 R5S kilns fired with lean gas with a production capacity of 800 t/d each.

The plant was erected by local construction companies within a very short time and the kilns were gradually put into operation with an interval of only a few weeks.

Due to the Covid pandemic, it was not possible to send commissioning specialists from Maerz to China. However, with the help of our Chinese colleagues on site - actively supported via remote connection from Zurich - the commissioning could be carried out smoothly. A real test for the whole team!
